Proud as Banana Joe!

Oz is doing such a great job doing his duty outside.  He reminds me of Banana Joe...the little affenpinscher who was named best in show at the Westminister Kennel Club Dog Show!  When Oz goes potty on command he is so proud of himself..just like Banana Joe.  Oz is also trying to lift his leg a wee bit off the ground.  He makes us laugh! We love Mr. # 14!
peeper potty Oz!

And then he runs back to you feeling so proud of himself!
Oz is 9 weeks old!

Famous Ottoman

Lucy loves going under her ottoman...Oz does too!
But Oz also loves going under the red chair because there's more head clearance.
Usually we get up at 2:30AM to go out potty but on 4-18-14 everyone in this house slept all night.
No kidding!

Your hut isn't a secret anymore, Lucy!

Sadie's Sniff Trick

Sadie was a boarder collie who belonged to my dear friend Nancy. Sadie was smarter than smart!  Sadie went across the rainbow bridge, but I will never forget her sniff trick. Sadie really impressed me so I play this game with Oz at night, we give it a go 3 times.  Here's how to play:

Oz sniff's the treat first.

Next, we put Oz in a room and close the door so we can hide the treat.
We put the treat in Oliver's bed...but Oz has to sniff out where we put it.
Lucy is with Mike...he's holding her.

When we're ready, I opened the door.
"Where's your treat Oz?"

Oz sniffs to figure out where the scent is.

He found it...Great Job, Oz!

Oz wants to keep playing...Lucy likes the action as long as she is out of the way.

Life at the Kropp Cottage

One day last week, Annie stopped over to meet Oz.  Annie is a poodle who is a neighbor.
When Oz looked at her,  he ran over next to Lucy for protection.
Oz knows Lucy is an older female and Lucy knows Oz is a baby.

Cushing's Disease or Failing Kidneys?

Lucy hasn't been feeling well so we've been going to the clinic.  We've been having bad luck with test results so we have had to redo the blood and urine tests.  She has all the symptoms of Cushing's, I hope it's not failing kidneys.

Potty break for Lucy but not Oz.
We picked up another urine vial.
Oz waits in the car.

We will find out next week what is up with Lucy.

Welcome Home Oz!

This is not Texas...that is snow on our deck!
Welcome home to Wisconsin, Oz.

The happiest little guy ever...tail is always wagging
plus he's a better kisser than Mike! :)

Picking up Ashscot I "chews" you Valentine!

On Monday, April 14, 2014 we flew to Houston to pick up Oz.  It was exactly one year ago to the day we had said good bye to Oliver.  What are the chances of that ever working out?
We knew Oz was a gift to us from heaven.  It was such an exciting day.

Heading out, our seats were in 14A and 14B.  We boarded at 6:20 and as tired as I was, I noticed our seat numbers.  I chuckled because we were sitting in row 14 to begin our trip to pick up Mr. 14 the Wizard.
We were in synch with the universe AGAIN!

Here comes the drill!

Hey Red Dot, we're going to pick up our Red Heart!
We had met Bebe, Kay and Linda, the Ashscot breeders at the Houston airport.  They were so wonderful, they saved us time by picking us up and we never had to wait at the rental desk.  We went to lunch and then to Kay's house to meet Oz.  His little body, just knocked our socks off!  I also got to love up Kenny, Oz's brother and his sister.  While Kenny was being held, his paws automatically folded criss-cross applesauce... just like a gentleman.  I will always remember petting Mikey, CH. Ashscot's Thriller's coat.  Wow, I loved his thick coat. I got to also see Luka and it was just one happy family.

I was beside myself with Westie company.  I always wanted a picture of me among westies. Unfortunately, I left my camera in the car and it was raining cats and dogs.  Needless to say, I had an opportunity and totally forgot because of all the excitement!  What a wonderful trip.  I would really like to see Dr. Kay McGuire show her westies someday.  I sure wished I had her knowledge on stripping and grooming too, I just love that hard coat.

Sue, our travel agent, told us to be back to the airport by 3:00 because we had to check in Oz. Time went so fast; it seemed this trip happened in a blink of a magical moment.  Our flight out of Houston was delayed but it was no big deal until we had to catch our connecting flight out of Detroit.  It was at least a 2 mile run to our gate on a different concourse with no time to waste...no bathroom break!  Poor Oz, he was holding on for dear life in his Sherpa bag!  He wasn't whining or crying or anything..just swinging to our stride.
What a wizard!  We made the flight but it was already boarded!
Mike puts Oz's carrier on his lap and opens it up!

Mike can't help himself so he risks getting us kicked off the plane!

Oz never fussed, I guess dad wanted to bond.

We love our #14, our cheesehead, the great and powerful Wizard of Oz.
He is our main man, our lover man and our forever man!

Down you go, here she comes!

Oz is packing his bags!

Oz is a wizard,  #14, my lover man, and soon a cheese head!  He's coming home shortly.
We tell Lucy everyday that OZ is coming.  Where's Oz, Lucy?
We are so happy!

Daffy and Donald Duck

This morning Mike announced the ducks were back!  Then I started thinking about how Donald and Daffy started taking over the pond last spring.  This will be the third spring they have been back.

Do you believe it?
