The Name Game

This is a list of our male Westie name choices and everyone's opinion:

Houston....OK! Hey...I like Houston!
Oscar...........NO it sounds like a weiner dog!  Hey...I like it!
Abe..............NO it sounds like an old man with whiskers!  Hey...I like it!
Duncan.........YES...everyone approves!  We could have white frosting running around.
Cooper.........YES...everyone mostly approves, but there are too many Coopers around.
Lincoln.....Nah
Truman....OK
Oliver...YES in my heart, but Mike says there will only be 1 Oliver.  We'll probably forget and call him Oliver anyway by accident. Everyone else said NO 
Guliver...NO Mr. Spouse said get off of it!
Vincent...NO our neighbors dog is named Vinnie.  He's the neighborhood bully.
Bruno...as in Bruno Mars! NO it sounds like a bulldog.Hey...I like Bruno Mars!
The list really got cut back on Christmas Day.  I believe I had a list of at least 25 names.

We narrowed it down...I think!

Lily goes home

Lily has a little hood that she can pull over her ears. 
That way the Alaskan deep freeze temperatures don't bother her.

Ice Rink

Our neighborhood ice rink is ready for ice skaters. 

And baby it's cold out!!  The temperature is -7 degrees.
Lucy and I are the only two out in the elements.

Dental Check

It's that time of year Lucy...time for a dental check. Two things had changed her diet and toothpaste.  Lucy gets her teeth brushed every night and then her eye drops...she has her routine.  I know something is bothering her because she has been pulling away from me when I brush her.

Lucy's favorites are Petrodex and Nylabone foaming tartar remover. 
She hates Nylabone toothpaste and Petzlife oral care gel salmon flavor.



Get me out of here!

So we left and went to the carwash.



And then I drove all over trying to find Duncan frosting for my cookies. 
Hey..Duncan, I like that name!  I'm going to put Duncan on our Westie name list.

 

NO...I didn't find Duncan butter whipped frosting!!
After 2 hours of traffic and 4 grocery store stops Lucy and I went to the park.



By the time we got home the temperature dropped to 7 degrees.

Awesome!

Winter Wonders

Lucy and I went to the park for a walk. What a beautiful day yesterday was.

We LOVE Thursdays

Thursdays are getting to be our lucky good news days.  Lucy, Mike and I have now claimed Thursday as our favorite day of the week!  Great news arrived Thursday, December 19th...Queen Carrie Ashscot was bred last week.  We are hoping she will be a MOM!

Oh NO!

The squirrels are smarter than we are....just look at this..!

Usually Oliver tended to the squirrels in the yard and they never out smarted him!  We are done with DIY, we went and bought a squirrel baffle and we haven't seen a squirrel since.

Thursday Surprise

Last Thursday was a long day... after school I had a 4:00 conference, then out to dinner with friends before attending a presentation by Christopher Lehman about close reading.

But, when I got home, look what I got in the mail.....

 A postcard from Bebe and it just made my day!  Aren't they beautiful? 

Now that's a lot of peace, love & joy!

We plan to get our next Westie from Bebe.

 

Lucy stayed home and helped Mike cook supper in the kitchen. 

That's a good thing because we are having Christmas and I don't cook!
