She had an abdominal ultrasound, they shaved her belly. Lucy is losing protein in her urine and the numbers keep going up. We changed her food to a renal diet and she is starting medication (Benazepril) to decrease the pressure in the kidney and to hopefully reduce protein loss. She is also taking a low-dose of aspirin to reduce the risk of clot formation. We don't like sad news...Lucy is the queen around here. The sad news is Lucy's kidneys are failing her. The good news is that she has outstanding health care and that is a huge comfort. We are going to check her renal values in 2 weeks and then in another month. We hope the numbers stop going up but she also has elevated liver enzymes and they found a splenic nodule, we don't know if it's metastatic or benign.
