You've Got Mail!

Today was the first time Lucy and I saw a Monarch at our backyard pond.  She was laying eggs like crazy on the milkweed plant.  Monarch butterflies just don’t seem to have the true orange color to them as they used to when I was a child.

Time to roll this cart.
Lucy and I went for a walk to Stricker’s Pond today.  It was a warm morning so we went in the cart.  Stricker’s Pond was a favorite spot for Oliver, so Lucy and I still go there together and it's a close walk from home.
You've got mail???
On our way, we saw a little boy and his sister getting the mail from their mailbox.  I would say he was about 6 years old and she must have been 8.  He was so excited when he found a package addressed to him that he ran to the front door of his house yelling “Mom we've got mail!”  The girl smiled at me with a package in her hand also.   It dawned on me that the excitement of getting mail still lives on. OMG, I grabbed that moment and held it in my heart... as it reminded me of the days we used to send in the boxtops for a free toy!
Hope your week was filled with good memories.
