August has slipped away from us.

Chrysalises and Caterpillars

We have 2 chrysalises and 3 caterpillars...

Stella and Chewy's Beef

Just for the record....Lucy did not like the Stella and Chewy's Beef.  It just didn't agree with her at all!  She is back to eating the chicken flavor.  Whatever makes my little gal happy, my little gal gets!  Lucy Lu had a haircut this week.

Monarch Butterflies

Sniffing the morning scents

 While I was drinking my coffee on the deck, I saw a magnificent monarch.  She was laying her eggs and after she flew away, I went looking for them on the underside of the leaves and I discovered an egg.

Here is the egg on the milkweed plant leaf. 
I put the leaf in this little dish with water and wait for the egg to hatch.

After a couple of days, the egg hatched.

The caterpillar chews and grows.

Lucy goes to school

August is here...
                                   Lucy and I have been at school getting my first grade room ready.

After 2 hours Lucy is under the table and I know she would rather be under her ottoman...
It's time to load a tub and take it all home!!

Pet Store

Lucy and I ran out to pick up some Stella and Chewy's raw meat today.  We are going to try beef this time, I'm thinking Lucy needs a break from chicken.  When we drove into the yard our fountain was full of finches. I clicked a picture before they all flew away.

Meet Lily

Lily is a big to do!

She puts herself to bed at 9:00 pm and no one is with her.

Lily is the best listener in the whole world!

We love to have her visit.

Wizard of Oz Trees

Lucy and I were out for a walk and ran into some interesting trees.


These are big old oak trees.




It felt like we were in the Wizard of Oz forest. 

That's funny because Lucy looks like a miniature lion.
